Supported Telephone Solutions
As a solution designed with the IBM i client in mind, our goal was to insulate “i” programmers from complex telephony interface issues so they could deal with delivering the best voice integrations possible. iNspire accomplishes this by providing a high-level interface through our APIs. Our APIs deliver the telephony functions to IBM i developers without the need to understand the complexities of back-end telephony. For example, iNspire insulates the developer from the considerations of a T1 PRI interface versus a VoIP SIP interface. Again, programmers concern themselves with integrating voice within business applications to meet the requirements of your organizations business process while iNspire takes care of the telephony specifics.
With that in mind, iNspire is available for 3 distinct telephony environments:
- System i IP Telephony
- Other IP Telephony vendors (VoIP)
- Traditional telephone Solutions (PBX’s)
System i IP Telephony:
Through a cooperative effort with IBM, iNspire has been tested to operate with IBM's Power Systems IP Telephony offerings. iNspire uses the industry standard SIP (session initiation protocol) to deliver all the features and benefits of the iNspire solution in a package designed specifically for IBM's IP Telephony solutions on Power.

Other IP Telephony vendors (VoIP):
iNspire also provides interoperability with any SIP-compliant VoIP telephony environment. Again, the same features and benefits are available to any IBM i customer using other VoIP environments. If your telephony solution is not SIP compliant, we can often integrate through the many gateway solutions available on the market today. Please contact us for details. info@iMessagingSolutions.com
Traditional telephone Solutions (PBXs):
iNspire was originally designed for operation with any telephone system PBX through either an analog or T1 connections. iNspire supports analog lines for basic implementations and T1 for implementations with greater line requirements. In fact, many of our customers still use traditional telephone systems for their call needs.
